Abstract:

Background and Aims: Disc displacement is the most common temporomandibular joint disorder and Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is the gold standard in its diagnosis. This disorder can lead to changes in signal intensity of Magnetic resonance (MR). The purpose of this study was evaluation of correlation between relative signal intensity of MR images of retrodiscal tissue, superior and inferior head of lateral ptrygoid muscle with type of anterior disk displacement and condylar head flattening in patients with temporomandibular disorder (TMD).Materials and Methods: In this retrospective study, 31 MR images of patients who had anterior disc displacement were evaluated. After relative signal intensity measurement for retrodiscal tissue, superior and inferior head of lateral ptrygoid muscle, the correlation between relative signal intensity and type of anterior disc displacement was evaluated with repeated measure ANOVA test. In each of these 3 areas, t-test was used to compare the groups with and without condylar head flattening. Results: The correlation between relative signal intensity of MR images and type of anterior disc displacement in retrodiscal tissue, superior and inferior head of lateral ptrygoid muscle was not significant. There was also no statistically significant correlation between relative signal intensity of MR images and flattening of condylar head in retrodiscal tissue, superior and inferior head of lateral ptrygoid muscle (P>0.05).Conclusion: According to findings of this study, relative signal intensity of MR images in retrodiscal tissue, superior and inferior head of ptrygoid muscle is not a good predictor for type of anterior disc displacement and flattening of condylar head. It seems that this cannot be used as a diagnostic marker for TMD progression.

Abstract:

The effect of length variation on the Magnetic properties of NiFe alloy nanowires electrodeposited into the alumina template was investigated. The diameter (45±2.5 nm) and length (~1.9, 7.12, 8.3, 9.5 and 13.3mm) of the nanowires were estimated from scanning electron microscopy images. Energy dispersive spectroscopy results showed Ni3Fe7 composition of the alloy nanowires. The Magnetic properties of the samples were investigated by vibrating sample magnetometer. It showed that with increasing the length of the nanowires from 1.9±0.1mm to 13.3±0.66mm, coercivity reduced from 1050 Oe to 705 Oe and squareness reduced from 0.64 to 0.46. The results proved increasing the magnetostatic interaction between the nanowires with length. Progress toward the multi-domain behavior was predicted caused to drastically reduce in the coercivity.

Abstract:

The structural, electronic and Magnetic properties of Zn1-xMnxO dilute Magnetic semiconductor (DMS) were studied by the full potential-linear augmented plane wave (FP-LAPW), and for the exchange correlation potential, Generalized Gradient approximation (GGA) was used. The study was done in the framework of the density functional theory (DFT) by implementing the Wien2k code. The density of states showed spin polarization in Fermi level by substitution of Mn atom in the ZnO compound. The values of spin polarization depend on the crystallography structure of Zinc Oxide. Also, the Magnetic moment and the exchange splitting energy demonstrated different values for each structure.

Abstract:

Sluggish Cognitive Tempo is used to describe a particular type of attention deficit, concentration, and slowness in information processing. The aim of this study was to investigate the psychometric properties of the Sluggish Cognitive Tempo Scale (SCTS) of the parent form among Iranian children. The present study is a descriptive study. A sample of 1700 people was selected from the provinces of Tehran, East Azerbaijan, West Azerbaijan, Kurdistan, Fars and Khorasan using cluster sampling method. 122 subjects were excluded from statistical analysis due to incomplete answers to the questionnaires and thus the final sample was reduced to 1578 parents. The confirmatory factor analysis method and internal consistency were used to compute the Sluggish Cognitive Tempo Scale factorial validity and reliability, respectively. Also, in order to examine the construct validity of the Sluggish Cognitive Tempo Scale, we computed correlations between different dimensions of Sluggish Cognitive Tempo Scale with Attention Deficit Subscale of Mental Health Assessment Questionnaire for Children and Adolescents. The results of statistical results showed that this scale has structural validity, criterion and convergence in Iranian society. The results indicate that the scale is three factors and also the validity of the scale using Cronbach's alpha method and retest test after Approved two weeks. According to the findings of the present study, the parent form of the Sluggish Cognitive Tempo Scale (SCTS) has a good validity and reliability and it can be used in research related to slow cognitive multiplication in Iranian society.

Abstract:

Hydroxyapatite (Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2) with the hexagonal crystal structure is the only identifiable mineral phase of bone. In this work, magnesium ferrite-hydroxyapatite nanocomposites were synthesized for the purpose of medical applications. The first step of this work is the synthesis of mesoporous hydroxyapatite nanorods via co-precipitation method in combination with micelles template. Non-ionic surfactant Pluronic P123 was used as a micelles template. At the second step, magnesium ferrite-hydroxyapatite nanocomposites were synthesized by the sonochemical method. The crystal structure of nanopowders was determined using X-ray diffraction pattern. Transmission electron microscopy was also applied for the morphology of the samples. From TEM image of the nanocomposite, it was observed that magnesium ferrite nanopaticles have spherical shape with diameter of about 8 nm on the surface of hydroxyapatite nanorods. Hysteresis loops (M-H) of magnesium ferrite nanoparticles and magnesium ferrite-hydroxyapatite nanocomposites were measured at room temperature by a vibrating sample magnetometer. The results revealed the superparaMagnetic behavior of the produced nanostructures.

Abstract:

In the present study, the Magnetic properties of three-dimensional topological insulators, doped with Magnetic atoms are investigated. The spin-orbit locking of surface electrons results in interesting Magnetic behaviors, absent in conventional insulators without spin-orbit coupling. One of these behaviors is the strong dependence of ferroMagnetic paraMagnetic transition temperature on different system parameters. Here, using the mean-field formalism, we have studied the effects of hexagonal warping on the order parameter, critical temperature, and Magnetic susceptibility of system.
